Honey Garlic Tofu

This quick meal takes advantage of good quality, heat and eat products.

Ingredients

  • 1 serving Japanese style tofu cut into triangles
  • Oil to coat the bottom of a small skillet
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili paste (or more)
  • 1 clove garlic grated with microplane
  • 1 green onion sliced thinly reserve some for garnish
  • 4 Tablespoons Soy sauce I use tamari
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Honey
  • Chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 serving microwave basmati rice heated according to the package directions

Instructions

  • Heat the oil, garlic and red chili paste over medium high heat
  • Add the tofu, turning to coat. Cook for 3 minutes or so to heat thru.
  • Move the tofu to the side of the pan and add the soy sauce, green onions and honey to the center. Let thicken a little then turn the tofu in the sauce to coat.
  • Arrange the tofu over the cooked rice, then pour any remaining sauce over top and garnish with green onions and cilantro
